Arctic Grizzly Bear Hunts

We would like to invite you to the Arctic in Northwest Alaska this next fall to the banks of the salmon-filled streams in pursuit of trophy grizzly bears. Our hunts take place in our exclusive guide area in GMU #23. We have just limited space available for the 2025 fall season. This is a great chance to pursue Boone and Crockett size interior grizzly bears!

We base our hunts out of remote base camps with excellent food and comfortable tents. Occasionally smaller spike camps will be used to better enable the guide to get you in on a big boar.

Noatak national preserve

Our exclusive guide use concession in the Noatak National Preserve is home to some of the most remote country in Alaska. This untouched wilderness is home to the most spectacular views available to hunters.

Alaska Dall Sheep Guides is an authorized concessionaire within the Noatak National Preserve (U.S. National Park Service) with a Commercial Use Authorization for the Noatak River area.

We have secured this hunting area to provide our clients with the best opportunity to experience the true Alaska wilderness and have a chance at a trophy boar.

Your Own pilot

After you arrive in Kotzebue, you will continue your journey to a remote airstrip in our hunting area via a Cessna 207 air charter. From there, you will be in our care. We operate our own Piper Super Cub airplanes to make sure you are safely brought into spike camp to meet your guide. This will also allow you to move camps if needed and relocate with ease.

Why bear hunt in August?

At over 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle, winter comes early. We have found over the years that your best chance at locating a trophy boar with prime hair condition is late August - early September. The temps this time of year are around 30 deg F in the mornings with highs around 45 deg F. It is comfortable hunting weather and the bears are centralized on the river banks.

The fall bear hunting is second to none as the chum salmon run is hot and the bears are hungry.

Experience the hunt

You will have 8 days on a fully outfitted hunt with some of the best guides & pilots in Alaska. Our operation is small, so we can provide you with quality hunt services including food you like, camps that are comfortable, and experienced bear guides.

No lottery draw is required to obtain a bear tag in our units, but space is limited.

OTHER SPECIES

However, federal lands where we operate will not be open for non-resident caribou hunting in 2024 and beyond. These federal land closures will exist until the Western Arctic Caribou Herd population numbers reach 200,000+ animals. Beginning for the 2025 season, a new draw-only permit is available for non-residents. Apply before December 16th but at this time it looks like federal land will not be open even for those that draw caribou permits.

All additional species may be added on a trophy fee basis.
